Peace on Earth and in Your Holiday Celebrations!

Tranquility is life to the body." Proverbs 14:30 Peace on Earth. . .A major holiday theme, but often our lives are anything but peaceful during this very busy season of celebration. Running from shopping to cooking to entertaining to travel to parties to decorating and perhaps gift making as well we are often out of steam, stressed, and on edge. The meaning of the season is almost sure to be lost. Add to that, stress is a major factor in 90% plus of all the dis-eases of our bodies. King Solomon shared the avove quote thousands of years ago. How true it is.  Is it time to take a closer look at those todo lists and calendar apps, and make the time to minimize your holiday stress and maximize your enjoyment of the holiday? Reflexology's number 1 benefit  is stress reduction. With reduced stress, of course, healing on many levels has opportunity to take place in your body  Footsteps in Eden Reflexology has created a haven for you to spend 30-75 minutes tota...

Holiday Stress Reduction Tips -- Reflexology: The Ultimate One

Several years ago I adapted these "Holiday Stress Reduction Tips" from an article by Dr. Dolores Digaetano, which appeared in the MEMPHIS COMMERCIAL APPEAL. Sharing them again here, along with more of my own. Praying at least one or two speak to you that you may find yourself in a more relaxed place throughout the busy days of December. 1. Try a new exercise routine (remember that there is no such thing as inappropriate weather for walking, riding a bike, etc., only inappropriate clothing.) 2. Limit social obligations to people you really like. 3. Spend no more than 1 percent of your annual income on gifts. 4. Pay cash. 5. Give of yourself (volunteer in some capacity). 6. Brighten someone's day. 7. If your current holiday traditions aren't enjoyable to you, then makke new ones. 8. Make a list of your blessings. 9. Spend More time in silence and nature. 10. Wonder 11. April Blooming Invites You to Footsteps In Eden Reflexology

Clients of Footsteps In Eden have been wowed by the April color palatte of God's incredible creation as they travel the little street to our door. We're amazed, too, every time we glance out the window or wander about our yard. It would be splendid for it to look this amazing year round, but suppose we would never appreciate it so much. Suffice it to say, Memphis shows off big time for a few weeks each Spring, and we are blessed to enjoy an extreme abundance of the glitz and glamour of it all. Reflexology appointments during this season are still available. Your relaxation will begin before you even arrive at your destination.

Valor® - A Staple in my Aromatherapy Collection

Valor® , is a proprietary blend of therapeutic grade essential oils from Young Living . Young Living offers over 100 different essential oils and essential oil blends. This specific blend reached out and caught my attention in a BIG BIG way . . . That experience, which I'll share today, not only grabbed my attention, it hooked me on the oils that I love so much. Young Living also incorporates these therapeutic grade oils into a host of personal care products, dietary supplements, and household products that are non-toxic, eco-friendly, and wonderful to use. Now for my personal story of Valor® -- A bit long, but I truly wished to share the whole traumatic experience for you to know how truly blessed I felt upon the discovery of this great essential oil. Three years ago this past December -- it was the day after Christmas -- the Mid-South section of the county was recovering from a major ice storm & a devastating tsunami was hitting Thailand. That was the day! Our son and daug...

Lush Meadows and Drink from Quiet Pools

Surrounded by so much chaos . . . stress and frustrations on the left and on the right . . . in front and rear too . . . take the time to sit . . . and rest . . . focusing your eyes on the one who securely holds your hand . . . perhaps meditate on the words penned by a famous shepherd . . . they may tickle sweet emotions long forgotten . . . speak soothing life to your parched spirit . . . If these words of the 23rd Psalm sound a little different, they are . . . smile! Take a fresh look . . . From THE MESSAGE -- Psalm 23 GOD, my shepherd! I don't need a thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows; you find me quiet pools to drink from. True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction. Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I'm not afraid when you walk at my side. Your trusty shepherd's crook makes me feel secure. You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies. You revive my drooping head; my cup brims with blessing....

Holiday Stress & Depleted Energy Coming Right Up!

With Thanksgiving just over two weeks away, even the anticipation of Holiday Stress and Depleted Energy may have you singing the blues, while rejoicing would be so much more appropriate. Skimming through a Natural Health magazine this morning with much to say about simplifying your holiday celebrations to be truly celebrations, I read of many suggestions on how to do this. Most of us would be wise to heed the ideas of smaller morning meaningful celebrations and rethinking our expectations of the perfect holiday. Even with the best intentions in place, the season just naturally adds some stress to and depletes energy from our lives. Taking time to relax and enjoy life are so important in the midst of the busyness of the season. Being a reflexologist, one of my thoughts as I read through the article was the idea that reflexology reduces stress and promotes energy. In fact, some have said they believe that a 30-60 minute nap (and this happens often) during a reflexology session is the equ...

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology -- a topic mentioned in more than one of my posts, and certainly the main topic of the one published earlier today -- but just exactly what is reflexology???? Happy Feet? -- Maybe, but read on. . . One of the definitions we learned in class goes like this: Reflexologists understand that the entire body is mirrored on the feet and hands. Foot and hand reflexology is a scientific art based on the premise that there are zones and reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all body parts. The physical act of applying specific pressures using thumb, finger, and hand techniques results in stress reduction which causes physiological changes in the body. A primary benefit of reflexology is relaxation. Relaxation through reflexology may help the body to balance any kind of stress it is experiencing.* Reflexology has been around for centuries. The use of this technique, especially in our western culture, all but disappeared. In the early 1900's new "discoveries...
