Cumulative Benefits of Reflexology

How often do you recommend that I schedule my reflexology appointments? This is one of the most frequently asked questions from clients. You may have asked it yourself. Rather than offer the "one size fits all" answer, here are some reasons for considering the cumulative effect of reflexology for your personal health and wellness goals. Health challenges are often a part of life for months and even years -- often many years. When clients choose weekly or bi-weekly sessions, and make these a priority over a span of months and in some cases years, they often experience amazing results. (Some sessions may bring nearly indiscernible baby steps. Other times the client is amazed at the dramatic changes.) By allowing their whole being to enter that deep state of relaxation on a regular basis they encourage their whole body toward greater health and wellness for a lifetime. Sometimes new clients "try" a few sessions over 6 or 8 weeks time expecting to see significant resul...

Reflexology Special Holiday Offers for November-December 2010

The fast approaching holidays, and the limited time available to be and do all we would like during the months of November and December, have had my mind in a spin. As moms and grandmothers and women in general, we take on the holidays with a vengeance. I'm not sure what we're looking for, except perhaps to recreate a memory or a dream we see in our hearts, and hope to experience too. I'm thinking of the ways to make our dreams realities while keeping our dispositions kind and our hearts loving. Anything less would spoil the effect. You're agreeing about now, right? :o) Here are a few of my thoughts on destressing the holidays for a happier, healthier, joyful celebration for all: 1. We all have so much. So, do most of those on our gift giving lists. I see so many things I would love to purchase for my children and grandchildren. It's challenging, but one a pray I'm up to: limiting my purchases to one well-chosen gift for each person. Being able to purchase gifts...

THEY ARE SEXY! They're also a Pain!

Ladies, they also make us emotionally feel on top of the world or at least a little closer to it. (That holds especially true if you're short like me.) Wait! For the tall slender types, they really lift you up there! They create the illusion of longer legs, we're convinced they are the ultimate in femininity. The pointy toe ones work wonders if you're seeking the long slim foot look. BUT physically, our feet scream all day and into the night -- especially if you must be in an upright position for hours on end with no chance to kick them off under your desk. A few years ago, a young woman in her early 20's, an aquaintance of mine, loved her heels so much. She loved the way they looked and the empowering emotions they created in her mind and spirit. She wore them proudly every day. She had a whole wardrobe of these glorious spikes. She had done this since her teens. But now the pain she was enduring from the foot torture the heels inflicted had become excrutiating. This y...

Footsteps In Eden Reflexology - 30 Seconds of Limelight

Footsteps in Eden Reflexology (Memphis, TN) has 30 seconds of limelight this Saturday morning... that means along with 15 other ladies from Memphis' Ladies Who Launch incubators, I have the opportunity to share my 30 second "elevator speech." What's an elevator speech? You know. Someone on the elevator asks you what you do (not likely -- people rarely speak on elevators), but you have about 30 seconds to respond and leave them with a GRRRRREAT impression. This is all Saturday morning at 10 at That Chic Shopping Show at the AgriCenter in Memphis, TN. There will be giveaways and fun, and a full day of great shopping for chics! Anyone have any wonderful ideas for my elevator speech, I'm all "ears"!!!! (But ideally the speech will focus on "feet"!) I have one special gift to give away as well. Any really creative and fun ideas for that are truly appreciated!!! So, this is definitely the post on which to comment . . . and if you're in Memphis...

Foot Washing -- A Humble Service

Thursday evening of Holy Week -- Jesus served His disciples by washing their feet. That's not considered a very pleasant task. They walked dusty roads on their sandaled feet. The dust that hopped into their shoes, mixed with sweat on their feet from the warm climate would have made for some caked on mud. It's a good bet they may have sported blisters and callouses besides -- perhaps cracked skin. Yet Jesus possessed the humility for the task in spite of His status as God Incarnate. In a Bible study session recently someone commented about our individual willingness to wash feet if that is the task God has prepared for us to do. God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:8-10 My though...

Reflexology Benefits for Pregnancy

Growing my reflexology business is causing me to plant my seeds in many locations. While completing my documented case studies for certification I was privileged to share the reflexology experience with two expectant moms. They were both intrigued with the benefits they experienced and how good they felt at the conclusion of the sessions. In the last few weeks I've researched the specific area of reflexology for pregnancy (mom, dad, and baby) even further. I'm looking forward in a week or so to receiving a text book specifically written on this topic, and the opportunity to further my reflexology education in this area. This weekend I had the privilege of sharing what I do with a midwife in our area. I'm so grateful for her encouragement. What I would certainly like to share here is the benefits -- so, you'll be informed, too. Just for the expectant mommy the list goes something like this: reflexology may bring some welcome relief for morning sickness, Backache, Digesti...
